The Twyford Road theatre will host the play from Tuesday, February 17 to Saturday, February 21, with performances at 7.45pm nightly and a 3pm matinee on the Saturday.

The play focuses on the sacrifices made by all those who endured the conflict, whether as a front line soldier, a civilian back home or, as in the case of teenager Private Tommo Peaceful, a volunteer recruit accused of desertion.

Private Peaceful, like War Horse, began life as a book for older children and has been turned into a powerful and emotive play for all ages.

It is directed by Hayley Blakeman (Bottle Top Theatre Community) and David Edwards.

Tickets cost £10, or £5 for those aged 21 or under.
