Wokingham Libraries to join in Harry Potter book night

Muggles everywhere are being invited to Wokingham Borough libraries on Thursday, February 5 to celebrate the first-ever worldwide Harry Potter book night. The event is a chance for youngsters to come dressed as their favourite character from the ever-popular series of books and share the wonder of J.K. Rowling’s unforgettable stories with the next generation of readers.

There will also be readings from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and partake in craft activities and quizzes.

And best of all, events in Borough libraries start straight after school so all ages can enjoy them.

Cllr Pauline Jorgensen, Wokingham Borough Council executive member for resident services, said: “We are so excited to be joining up with schools, libraries, bookshops and community centres throughout the UK and Ireland and beyond to celebrate the first ever Harry Potter book night.

“The Harry Potter books are rarely on the library shelves as so many children love to hear about Harry and his adventures on becoming a wizard. We hope this fun activity will encourage people to come and enjoy Harry’s books and maybe at these events try other wizard themed reads.”
